TERMS AND CONDITIONS from January 2024

CHARGES

Daily rate is charged for arrival day, boarding stay and departure day.

The full daily charge is made regardless of early collection or late drop off.

Minimum charge is for 3 days.

Extra Christmas charges will be applied for the festive period.

Payment by bank transfer, cheque or cash upon collection.

CANCELLATION

Cancelling within 7 days of booking starting – full booking charge is payable.

Cancelling within 14 to 8 days of booking starting – 50% of booking charges is payable

Cancelling with 15 days or more notice – loss of deposit only

If cancelling within 2 weeks of booking commencing and Capton Cattery is able to refill the space you will be part/fully refunded accordingly.

ARRIVING

Please arrive with your cat in a secure cat carrier – no cat leads, harnesses, cardboard carriers, plastic boxes etc

Please bring any bedding/toys/items in a labelled bag.

Please bring vaccination card.

No up to date vaccinations and boarding will be refused.

COLLECTION

A collection day and time will have been organised upon arrival – should you need to change this please contact Capton Cattery as soon as possible.

During busy times it may be necessary to move a guest to a holding pen (should you be delayed). The extra cost and cleaning of a holding pen will be the responsibility of the owner.

Family or friends may collect but you must inform Capton Cattery of their name and they will need to bring ID proof for Capton Cattery to release a guest to them.

Should you return early then the full booking charge will be made. Each circumstance will be considered so please do discuss early collection first.

Should an owner not collect a guest:

No contact with owner after 14 days – ownership passes to Capton Cattery

No contact with emergency contact after 14 days – ownership passes to Capton Cattery

FEEDING

Whiskas, Felix, Iams, Purina One, Sheba and Gourmet available in pouches/trays/jelly /gravy

Whiskas, Iams, Purina, James Wellbeloved available in dry

For any other foods (prescribed or chosen) to be provided by the owner – no discount for this is applied to the cattery charges

No raw food/fresh food can be catered for – there is no freezer/fridge available for use

WELFARE

All guests must be in a fit and healthy condition to be accepted for boarding. If Capton Cattery feels it is not in the best interest, due to ill health, boarding will be refused. Pre-existing illness is NOT covered under Capton Cattery’s insurance and all veterinarian medical bills are at the cost to the owner.

Guests from the same household may share a family/suite/superior suite at your request. Should Capton Cattery need to separate guests the cost of the use of a further pen/s will be added to your bill.

Capton Cattery will contact your own vet (in the first instance). If unavailable then Capton Cattery will contact White Lodge Vets.

If your cat has an accident while staying at Capton Cattery then we will contact your own vets for discussion/appointment. Capton Cattery has insurance that will cover up to £25,000 per guest.

Pre – existing medical conditions are not covered by Capton Cattery’s insurance and all bills remain the responsibility of the owner.

If your cat shows signs of illness during their stay, and it is deemed not pre-existing, then there is a limit of cover up to £2000.

Capton Cattery has 2 isolation pens should the need arise to separate guests or to allow isolation for medical purposes should the need arise.

VACCINATIONS

All guests must be up to date with their vaccinations whether the primary course or annual booster. All non-vaccinated guests or guests over their annual booster will have boarding declined.

FLEAS

Fleas are prevalent at certain times of the year. Over the counter repellents are not always effective. A vet prescribed course is advised.

Should evidence of fleas be found on a guest then Capton Cattery will administer a treatment to kill fleas upon advice from our vets.

Should evidence of fleas be found on a guest then Capton Cattery will have to fumigate and deep clean the pen for the next guest – extra cleaning and equipment and spray has a £30 surcharge which is the responsibility of the customer and will be added to your bill upon collection.

MEDICATION

If your cat is on any form of medication please advise prior to boarding.

  • Liquid Loxicom can be given at no extra cost.
  • Insulin dependent guests – regular guests who become dependent on insulin will be permitted to board at an extra cost of £3 per day. Insulin timings must be at 8am and 8pm by the first day of boarding at Capton Cattery.

Please see list below for differing regulations on illnesses:

  • Ringworm – allowed boarding once treatment has started for 5 days – separate procedures followed in the cattery and a £30 surcharge applied to final bill.
  • Fleas – separate procedures followed and a £30 surcharge applied. A Capstar oral tablet will be given, cat will be groomed for fleas daily, on departure extra steaming/cleaning/fumigation will occur and a £30 surcharge will be applied to the final bill to cover these extra costs.
  • Rabies – no boarding until clear from vet
  • Toxoplasmosis – no boarding until clear from vet
  • Upper Respiratory Infections – no boarding until clear from vet
  • Cat-scratch disease – booking allowed following 7 days of final antibiotic
  • Cryptosporidiosis – no boarding until clear from vet
  • Giardiasis – no boarding until clear from vet
  • Tapeworms – booking allowed following 7 days of last treatment
  • Bordetella Bronchiseptica – (known as ‘kennel cough’) no boarding unless treatment given 14 days before boarding
  • Feline Bartonella (cat scratch fever) – no boarding until 2 weeks clear of fleas and clear from vet.
  • Feline Distemper – no boarding until clear from vet (finished course of antibiotics)
  • Leptospirosis – no boarding until clear from vet (finished course of antibiotics)
  • Feline Giardia – no boarding until clear from vet
  • Salmonellosis – no boarding until test is clear
  • Kidney Disease – no boarding

All medication to arrive in original packaging with clear instructions of dosage and guest name.

All medication will be stored as per instructions on the packaging.

Unused medication will be returned on collection.

Illnesses that are pre-existing (yet unknown at time of boarding) ALL MEDICAL COSTS remain the responsibility of the owner.

It is advised to carry PET INSURANCE for peace of mind of unexpected bills!

If Capton Cattery feels that any guest MAY be showing symptoms of an infectious disease they will be moved to an isolation pen immediately and vet advice/appointment sought immediately.

IN THE EVENT OF DEATH

In the event of Sara White’s death my family will be responsible for cancelling future bookings.

In the event of Sara White’s death all current bookings will have their emergency contact contacted to discuss collection.

In the event of Sara White’s death and no ability for the emergency contact to collect all guests may remain and be cared for by Sara White’s family until collection or may be transported to Capton Cattery’s emergency cattery of Five Oak Boarding Cattery owned and run by Heather and Tom Holley. You will be notified of an alternative collection time/day/cattery.

In the event of a guests death we will make immediate contact, unless you have indicated otherwise, to discuss options for all involved.

We are happy to be advised if you do NOT want to be contacted but you must leave clear instructions of who will collect/make arrangements for the deceased.

Capton Cattery has no facilities for holding a much loved deceased pet.

In the event of an owners’ death your emergency contact will make the decision of adoption or collection. Should Capton Cattery be unable to make contact with your emergency contact then ownership will pass to Capton Cattery after 14 days and Capton Cattery will place your much loved pet with Cats Protection for rehoming.
